About me

I live in Seoul, Korea and am currently employed as a System Engineer/Developer at OSSLab. Prior to making a career change to IT 3 years ago, I worked as a freelance Korean-to-English translator/interpreter and did college prep tutoring/consulting on the side (SAT I and admissions essays for US universities) for Korean students planning to study abroad.

As my blog posts probably indicate, I'm a fan of Linux. Programming is my hobby, which began in 2012 when I successfully completed the edX MOOC 6.00x Introduction to Computer Science and Programming. Since then I've taken a variety of other computer science classes on Coursera, Udacity and edX. With my fledgling knowledge of programming gained through MOOCs, I have managed to pass the Qualification Rounds in Google Code Jam for 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017 (username gojun077). One day I aim to make it past Round 1!

At work I mostly code in Bash shell and Python while in my spare time I take programming MOOC's with the goal of becoming a competent programmer in 10 years...
